JACKIE (KLEINE) WATTS MEMORIAL FUND
FOR SENIOR ANIMALS
In March of 2017 in Columbus, IN, Jackie Watts, age 33, tried to rescue a blind, elderly poodle from traffic and return the dog to its home. She ran after the scared little dog until they both reached the banks of Flat Rock River which was swollen with recent rain. Sadly, despite her selfless efforts, both Jackie and the dog got caught up in the rushing water and drowned. Because Jackie loved animals and was active in many groups that cared for animals, the
Bartholomew County Humane Society has set up in her memory a special medical fund for older animals that need extra care at the society’s shelter. Some of these needs are the following:

-
Diagnostic blood test and x-rays
-
Heartworm testing and treatment/prevention
-
Teeth cleaning and other dental needs
-
Eye & skin problems
-
Obesity/malnutrition
-
Heart and other systemic correctable problems
These medical procedures are expensive, but will give provide many senior animals a second chance at having finding a loving home. The fund needs $12,000 to give special care to senior (7 years +) animals in 2023. Please help us give older pets a second chance. Send your tax deductible donation to:
